Dr Selwyn Bolel, Bch. MRCGP Dip. Therapeutics – Dr Bolel has over 30 years of experience as a GP. He offers a full range of medical services to his patients (including minor surgery).

Practice Management

Teresa – Practice Manager –  Teresa is responsible for all aspects of managing the practice and developing and improving the services we provide.

Hannah – Team Lead – Hannah will will plan, direct and manage the work of the administration team to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient running of the admin office. If you have any feedback you would like to give about the practice, Hannah would love to hear from you.

Patient Care Navigators   

Deborah, Kelly and Lucy play a vital role in ‘keeping the cogs working’ they work incredibly hard and carry out a wide range of administration tasks. They are all trained in patient signposting which means they may ask you when you contact the surgery what the problem is. This is so that they can direct you the best person or service that can deal with your problem / question.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Andrea is our Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She can see a wide range of problems, prescribe, diagnose and refer patients om. Andrea will see everything that a Doctor will see. She does not however, issue sick notes, deal with mental health problems or see patients who have pregnancy related problems. Andrea is able to remove the contraceptive coils.

Practice Nurse 

Lina is experienced in the management of coronary heart disease, hypertension,  asthma and COPD and runs the practice review clinics for these conditions. Lina offers the usual range of nursing services from contraception advice and immunisations to travel vaccines and wound management.

Health Care Assistant

Linda offers a range of appointments from phlebotomy (bloods) and  health and well being advice to carrying out new patient and NHS health checks.



Joanna Parslow and Lisa Loh – Joanna and Lisa support the practice by carrying out various medication related tasks from offering occasional clinics to check blood pressure to running audits and much more in between.

Health Visitors

Trish Mulligan and Anne Sokell- Trish and Anne provide healthcare advice for expectant mothers and young children. They are based in Tyne View Children Centre every Wed, Thur and Fri. You can contact them on 0191 4335090.


Collette Pearce – our midwife is available every alternative Tuesday from 1:30 till 3:30pm, providing care before and after delivering your baby.

Primary Care Mental Health Workers and Counsellors

Primary Care Mental Health Workers employed by Gateshead Talking Therapies . They provide support for those experiencing common mental health problems like anxiety, depression and stress. You can refer yourself to the service direct by calling 0191 283 2541 or alternatively you can speak to your GP.

Kim Shephard is a Counselors employed by MIND. Counselling is intended to help you to deal with life’s difficulties and get your life back in order or back on track. It is an opportunity to talk about your troubles with a professional who has been trained to listen, to help you to understand your feelings and behavior better. If you would like to be referred for counselling, book an appointment with a GP. This service does not take self referrals.

District Nurse

District Nurses visit housebound patients who require general nursing services. You can contact them through the surgery.

Community Matron

Ms Janice Bowden – experienced in caring for patients at home in the community.

Cancer Care and Palliative Care

Carol Moore is the Macmillan Nurse attached to our practice. Carol provides support for patients with cancer and also for patients that require palliative care. Your GP can arrange a referral to this service.
