Dr Selwyn Bolel, Bch. MRCGP Dip. Therapeutics – Dr Bolel has over 30 years of experience as a GP. He offers a full range of medical services to his patients (including minor surgery).
Dr Harpal Ranu, Dr Helen Groom and Dr Anton Pollard also work with the practice regularly as locums.
Teresa Graham- Teresa is responsible for all aspects of managing the practice and developing and improving the services we provide.
Suzanne Hall – Suzanne is experienced in the management of coronary heart disease, hypertension, asthma and COPD and runs the practice review clinics for these conditions. Suzanne will also carry out Diabetes reviews from December onwards. Suzanne offers the usual range of nursing services from contraception advice and immunisations to travel vaccines and wound management.
Health Care Assistant
Carol Richardson- Carol offers a range of appointments from phlebotamy (bloods) and health and wellbeing advice to carrying out new patient and NHS health checks.
Our reception team provide reception and administration services in the practice. Deborah, Kelly, Mody and Kimi will be happy to help you in any way they can.
Beverly Knotts and Lisa Lau – Beverly and Lisa support the practice by carrying out various medication related tasks from offering occasional clinics to check blood pressure to running audits and much more in between.
Trish Mulligan and Anne Sokell- Trish and Anne provide healthcare advice for expectant mothers and young children. They are based in Tyne View Children Centre every Wed, Thur and Fri. You can contact them on 0191 4335090.
Collette Pearce – our midwife is available every alternative Tuesday from 1:30 till 3:30pm, providing care before and after delivering your baby.
Substance Misuse / Gateshead Evolve (CRI)
Joe Stringer and Holly Reilly work alongside Dr Bolel to support patients with drug and alcohol related problems. You can refer yourself to the service by calling 0191 5947821 or alternatively speak to a GP.
Primary Care Mental Health Workers and Counsellors
Victoria Cowens and Louise Cairns are Primary Care Mental Health Workers employed by Gateshead Talking Therapies . They provide support for those experiencing common mental health problems like anxiety, depression and stress. You can refer yourself to the service direct by calling 0191 283 2541 or alternatively you can speak to your GP.
Kim Shephard is a Counsellors employed by MIND. Counselling is intended to help you to deal with life’s difficulties and get your life back in order or back on track. It is an opportunity to talk about your troubles with a professional who has been trained to listen, to help you to understand your feelings and behaviour better. If you would like to be referred for counselling, book an appointment with a GP. This service does not take self referrals.
Mental Health Nurse Consultant
Dr Sarina Saiger is employed by the practice to see patients with complex mental health problems. Dr Saiger qualified as a mental health nurse in 1988 in the North East after relocating from Yorkshire where she was born. Dr Saiger has qualifications in cognitive behaviour therapy, solution focused brief therapy and drug and alcohol misuse and she has worked in the field of bereavement, forensic psychiatry and health promotion.
District Nurses visit housebound patients who require general nursing services. You can contact them through the surgery.
Ms Janice Bowden – experienced in caring for patients at home in the community.
Cancer Care and Palliative Care
Carol Moore is the Macmillan nurse attached to our practice. Carol provides support for patients with cancer and also for patients that require palliative care. Your GP can arrange a referral to this service.
